The first issue has two main stories. The first story is actually Spider-Man taking a flashback of how he came to be reveling over the capture of the burglar that murdered his Uncle. Also, this was the first appearance of the Jameson family and the son John Jameson, who later becomes Man Wolf in the comics. The first major appearance of Spider-Man involves saving Jameson’s son in space, whose capsule split apart. He thought this would clear his name, but it made things worse because Jameson chastised him in The Daily Bugle.

The second part of the comic focused on more significant things like Spider-Man’s first enemy, Chameleon. Also, it ties into the Marvel Universe with Spider-Man meeting the Fantastic Four. He wanted to join them on the basis of hopefully gaining money, but finds that they are a non-profit organization. Later in the story, Chameleon actually devises a plan to frame Spider-Man by taking advantage of his spider sense. Chameleon disguises himself as Spider-Man and commits some crimes. He sends a message to Spider-Man right to the location of police try to arrest Spider-Man for the crimes that Chameleon committed. However, he finds Chameleon and brings him to the police.
